The sniper world in Ukraine is a small village

The sniper world in Ukraine is a small village where everyone knows everyone else – if not directly, then through a handshake. Foreign snipers know Ukrainians – either directly or through 1–2 handshakes.

The world of those who organize systematic assistance to Ukrainian snipers is generally people who could fit in one room if there was a desire to gather them. We may have questions, “why did you buy such and such scopes in such and such a year? Why do you use such and such silencers?” or something else of the same kind. But there are never any complaints of a different nature, “this is all ineffective, don’t help” or “you really don’t help.” Why? Well, because everyone knows everything – whether you are helping people of the highest flight like Viacheslav Kovalskyi or other record holders, or you are helping ordinary young snipers from a brigade or battalion who are just starting to have their own name in the sniper community. You can’t hide anything from anyone. Because we, as snipers of Ukraine, live in a time when everyone is not just in one village, but in a village with transparent walls of houses. When you have sponsors who were snipers themselves in the past, they can meet any snipers you helped at any time and make sure: here is the weapon and here it works. And you can only find out after the fact that someone went somewhere on their business and met your snipers and talked. I consider this my main achievement: wherever #TeamYuri would come in Ukraine, they can assess for themselves how we help! Similarly, sponsors from Ukraine are constantly in touch with our sniper groups and are always aware of everything that is happening. It is no coincidence that all donations that are collected are doubled by sponsors from Ukraine and doubled by sponsors from among friends of Ukraine. None of the Ukrainian volunteers have such doublings - because no one can say - here is what was bought with your money, look. We have an advantage – because sniper weapons are something that is in use for a long time, and does not disappear in the heat of war like much other aid. And that is why we not only live in a small village, where the walls of the houses are transparent, but also the property in these houses has been preserved by 80%, and it can be seen and even shot from it. Thank God that everything is so transparent, thank God that the Ukrainian sniper community is grateful to us, thank God that we have the best community of sponsors and donors – because we not only invest every hryvnia in our Victory, but also multiply it! ⬇️ In the photo – our wonderful sponsor from the West, in the past – a sniper, meets with a sniper from the Carpathian Sich – and all this happens without our mediation or control. This is such people's control – the only thing that is important. Because this is the only thing that is really important. Every day I want to leave this service to Ukrainian snipers. On May 15, I did not go to the award ceremony from NV magazine – because we had to give the rifles to the front the next morning and worked not only all of May 15, but also the next night – and we gave everything. Of course, I am pleased to be the Man of the Year from the only authoritative rating in this country, together with Serhiy Poznyak, together with another sniper – to whom we also gave rifles in the 375th caliber, like Serhiy Poznyak. Even though I wanted to see everyone and hug everyone, it was more important to work, save lives, provide the weapons that no one else gives to Ukrainian snipers now. What are we doing now? We are working on strengthening the protection of Ukrainian snipers, because it is important not only to provide the best weapons, but also to save the lives of all Ukrainian snipers! My deepest gratitude to everyone who continues to support and help us and shares this burden with me, without you nothing would be possible! The Evolution of Sniper Warfare in Ukraine

Four long years of experience: how sniper warfare — and our support for snipers — has changed. In just one more month, the great russian-Ukrainian war will have lasted as long as the First World War. It was in the furnace of World War I that mass professional sniping was born. During the Russian-Ukrainian war, sniper warfare has undergone its greatest transformation yet — and these changes must be understood again and again. These days also mark four years since we began helping snipers. By then I could no longer fight myself, and countless requests from the front forced me to begin the work of providing grassroots support to units close to my heart. During the first months, starting in May 2022, we helped with ammunition, vehicles, rifles, optics, suppressors — we provided whatever the guys asked for. But even at that early stage, we began concentrating on .338 caliber rifles, mainly Rugers and Savages as affordable but high-quality weapons. We refined every rifle to near perfection,...

What problems our snipers have and how we can help

There are many questions to me about the situation at the front, what problems our snipers have and how we can help. 1. The first main problem is Rubicon. Something like our Unmanned Systems Forces, but they work not only from the rear, but also directly at the front, destroying everything they detect from the line of combat contact 10 km into our rear. They also partially reach targets further than 10 km. All this is achieved due to the unlimited provision of Rubicon with all types of drones and all types of weapons necessary for such units. If our command had a desire to win the war , several decisions would have been made that have long been necessary: 1A. We need to direct units of professionals to destroy Rubicon , providing them with unlimited resources. 1B. We need to provide brigades with drones , against which Rubicon operates, not according to e-points and previously achieved results, but unlimitedly. The same goes for electronic warfare and radar reconnaissance. 1C....

Why we train marksmen and not invest everything exclusively at the longest-range sniper groups

I am asked why we train marksmen, invest time and resources, and not throw everything exclusively at sniper groups fighting with the longest-range rifles? Today I came across an interesting testimony from the front. Svyatoslav Yavorivsky ( slavko.yavir on fb): "The effectiveness of shooting with an AK-74 or AR-15 at 300-400 m is practically zero, and cartridges cost money. A machine gun firing point immediately becomes a target for drones.  No one has canceled infantry combat, but we need to return to the good old mass sniping, that is, marksmen. The Finns once completely demoralized the Red Army in this way. A detachment of stormtroopers should be supported by one machine gun and two marksmen (local accurate separate shooters). This is not a sniper with a two-meter "paddle" of large caliber, but an accurate shooter at 400-500 m, with a semi-automatic rifle, who supports defensive combat or assault from cover. The Americans have been doing this for a long time. To train...
