I will answer right away about our situation, and then about assault troops as a separate phenomenon in general.
Our situation is very simple. We help large sniper groups that have good snipers and support personnel (reconnaissance, machine gunners, drivers, drone operators, sappers), have good group commanders and good instructors, and also have the full support of the command at the battalion, regiment, brigade, corps levels.
Of course, we receive offers to take on the patronage of new sniper pairs from our snipers regarding their friends from other units who have already proven their professionalism. Also, a significant percentage of new groups are recommendations from our instructors, who often know the guys since 2014 and have seen their entire development at every step. After checking the level of snipers, we learn about their status within the unit. If snipers are used for their intended purpose, rush into assaults only with their personal consent, have full support from the command at all stages of combat work - then we help.
In assault regiments, we help snipers, whom we already know very well, and this happens precisely in those regiments where the work of snipers is valued, there is constant great concern for snipers. Of course, the specificity of assault regiments is such that snipers support assault operations, and this is a risk. They help as assault troops, participate in clearing operations - and if it is voluntary, then we treat this with understanding.
Of course, we know about assault regiments and battalions in which the command does not protect people at all - but in these units we have never had snipers whom we would support.
So, we do not help snipers from assault regiments from all units, but only those in which we are confident, and about which we understand that they will not be burned in combat operations along with sniper equipment due to the peculiarities of the command's style of conducting combat operations.
In the same way, we help other snipers from all units of the Defense Forces. And if a crisis arises at the level of misunderstanding by the command of the specifics of sniper work - the guys end up in other units where their work is appreciated. That is why all our sniper weapons and equipment are tied to specific snipers, not units.
As for the general plan of the assault troops, even without their official registration, for almost a year Syrskyi has been trying to use them specifically for assault operations, as fire brigades that appear where there is a serious crisis on the front. This is having an effect.
Previously, these assault regiments had to both hold their sector of the front and work as assault units, and all this happened beyond the limit that people can withstand. But gradually the concept matured that the assault troops repel something, and the infantry entrenches in new positions. The main problem is precisely that this infantry, especially the TDF, de facto does not always entrench in position, in half of the cases it either does not come to entrench or disappears.
The low quality of the infantry is what both sides in this war suffer from. But Ukrainians could solve this problem. It is enough to massively attach infantry, especially from the TDF, to the best units, giving them the right to recruit staff practically without restrictions - and that's how we would come to the Third Assault Army, the Azov Army, etc. So far, unfortunately, not even all corps can assemble their own brigades on one sector of the front, and all of them can freely recruit people.
The infantry needs to be more motivated, the professionals who ensure the survival of the infantry - too. When the infantry feels like part of a large organism, sees that it is not abandoned to its fate, but is always helped out - the front stands, after the assault operations, the position is secured.
Of course, it is possible to keep a thin red line at the end of 2025 only with a constant increase in the actions of drones. First, it is necessary to invest even more in the accelerated development of the Unmanned Systems Forces that support the front. Secondly, in recent months, those units that are conducting combat operations in hot areas of the front have again lacked drones. In particular, even assault regiments are talking about an insufficient number of drones, about a drop in their supply. Meanwhile, it is necessary not only to maintain a certain level, but to constantly improve the situation with drones. And it is necessary to destroy the possibility of bombing our front line and rear with KABs.
If there is a strengthening of the drone component and qualitative changes in the work of the military and political leadership of the state with the infantry, if the problem of neutralizing the KABs, destroying enemy drone operators is solved, then there will be a sense in a new stage of development of both the Airborne Assault Forces and the Assault Forces.
The airborne assault troops are currently used as infantry, and if the infantry is strong, they will again be able to be used for strategic strikes on the enemy. And the assault regiments will either help in such offensives, or counterattack where crises arise. Now not only the assault regiments, but all the highest-level professionals are participating in counteroffensive actions, and these are the realities of war that already exist. And everyone is talking about the need for a strong infantry that could use the strikes of super-professionals.
Ideally, the entire infantry should be brought up to the level of super-professionals, and the examples of the 3rd Assault, Azov and some brigades show that this is realistic for everyone. The main thing is to protect the infantry, because if it is thoughtlessly lost, then no increase in the level of professionalism and support of super-professional assault and special forces will help to win the war!
So, we are working, doing everything we can, and we have hopes for personnel changes at the very top of our military command. The past 2 years have shown that we have generals who are able to win this war, to conduct not only defensive, but also offensive operations, even in the absence of superiority over the enemy, even in the absence of the necessary high quality of personnel - simply because they know how to think everything through and preserve personnel during combat operations. And this is the main thing.
While our hopes are not justified, we are doing everything we can at our level and a little more!
And we ask you to support us!!!
Please donate to the needs of snipers, they need your MAXIMUM support!!!
